Meet The Elchemists

El Sen is a journalist. He now works in Astro AWANI.

Armed with a Mass Communications degree awarded by Curtin University Perth, El Sen started his career as a crime reporter for the 100-over-year-old English tabloid The Malay Mail at the age of 22.

For two years, he manned the crime desk, churning out stories on shootings, murders, rapes and robberies for "The Paper That Cares".

At the same time, he was also tasked with various news assignments including investigative pieces and court reporting for the 114-year-old community-styled paper; during which he attained a certain level of recognition in the industry.

Prior to that, El Sen also had brief stints as a stringer with mainstream newspapers such as The Star and New Straits Times.

His last company before he joined Awani was FMT .

More widely known as an industrious journalist among his peers, less people know that this young Malaccan lad also loves art. If not for his other love, writing, he would have been drawing for a living. Always an optimist, it is his belief that one day, through his life's work, he would make the world a better place.

Cherry’s interest in the field of communications coupled with her life-long passion to help people has created a natural convergence of the two, firstly in her studies and now in her career.

Cherry took on the challenge of working with intolerant patients when she spent four years working while studying at a renowned private hospital, now known as Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur as a doctor's assistant. The experience allowed her to sharpen her people skills and build contacts with doctors, healthcare professionals and specialists which proved extremely useful when she later specialised in healthcare PR.

Cherry was a Senior Account Executive in G2 Public Relations. Her outstanding performance was recognised by Grey Group Malaysia when she was awarded "Account Executive of the Year (2011)“, over all other AEs and SAEs from Grey, G2 and G2 hub.

In 2011, Procter & Gamble Malaysia (P&G) invited Cherry to the ASIA External Relations Agency Summit/Excellence Awards in Singapore. At this annual event, P&G celebrates and acknowledges consistent delivery of excellent work from every country’s PR agency. This was the first time P&G nominated G2PR as the best agency for P&G Malaysia, under Cherry’s leadership.

Having managed diversified accounts from FMCG to consumer healthcare & pharmaceuticals, Cherry has worked with GlaxoSmithKline, Procter & Gamble, Abbott Nutrition, Wyeth Nutrition, Shell Malaysia, Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad and i-City. Such diversity in her clientele has helped Cherry build strong relationships with a wide range of media in Malaysia.

Cherry was in Ogilvy Public Relations before now returning as an Account Manager in G2PR. Cherry is currently servicing McDonald’s, Pfizer Malaysia, Dutch Lady and Nuvanta for Bio-Oil.
